Saltarello ensemble is an early music group that draws on the talents of young musicians. Playing the recorders and continuo they rediscover unusual works and bring a fresh approach to more well known repertoire.
Our programmes have included “The Scandinavian Connection” and “Music from the Royal Courts of Poland”. These include works by 17th and 18th Century composers such as Buxtehdue, Agrell, Roman, Per Brant, Johnsen, Zelenka, Telemann, Merula and Chelleri.
Individually, Saltarello have worked with many other early ensembles, contemporary musicians and composers.

“It was such a pleasure working with Kirsten and Heidi. Not only was their musical response to the Tate collection inspired and provocative, and but their talent, warmth and generosity was evident and hugely appreciated by the gallery team along with the audience.”
